The Virginia Federation of Humane Societies, Inc, is searching for an Executive Director. This is an exciting time for the Federation and it will be an exciting time for the new Executive Director. We are looking for someone who can assist us with the implementation of our strategic plan (see http://www.vfhs.org/pdf/strategic.pdf for full text). The position requires someone with excellent public speaking, communication and writing skills in order to get the word out about VFHS and our goals. The Executive Director will travel to other organizations, attend legislative sessions, assist with publications, as well as deal with the administration of all programs within the Federation. The Executive Director will also work closely with the Board of Directors to develop and implement a fundraising campaign.

Position Criteria: Minimum 2 years management experience. Two or Four year college degree preferred. Must have excellent writing and public speaking skills. Computer skills are a must. Position requires grant-writing, fundraising, budgeting and planning skills and experience. Knowledge of animal welfare organizations, Spay VA and Virginia Federation of Humane Societies a plus. Salary is commensurate with experience and skills.
