Humane State Training Workshops:

Please see attached flyers from HSUS for two FREE Humane State training workshops that will be held here in Fairfax on September 13 and September 14 at the American Legion Post 177, 3939 Oak Street, Fairfax.

Day 1 training (September 13th) is more for animal control and day 2 (September 14th) is more for shelters and rescues but some staff may want to attend both days. See flyers for topics. Both days offer CAWA education credits and they are working on accreditation from DCJS for the animal control workshops. Registration is required but there is no cost for participants to attend; coffee and lunch will be served.

Because this is such a fantastic free training opportunity right in our region, we have decided to close our shelter on Thursday, September 14th so that all shelter staff will be able to attend and take advantage of the training and the networking opportunity. I’d suggest that you have interested staff register as soon as possible. Registration is limited to 150 participants each day.

Registration information is also included on the flyers.
