The Virginia Federation of Humane Societies has concluded its awarding of grant funds under its 2010 Spay/Neuter Grant program!

The grant application process was open to 501(c)(3) non-profit humane organizations with operations in Virginia, with funds to be used only to assist Virginia animals. Eligible programs for this grant cycle were limited targeted programs meeting one of the following two criteria: 1) programs that target spay and neuter of dogs and cats prior to adoption; or 2) programs that target trap/neuter/return (TNR) of free roaming cats. VFHS' Spay/Neuter Committee received far more grant applications than available funding would allow, and the selection process was difficult due to the high quality of proposals that were submitted.  The 2010 VFHS Grant awardees are:

Gloucester-Mathews Humane Society

Humane Society/SPCA of Nelson County, Virginia

Richmond SPCA

Spay/Neuter All Pets, Inc.

Twin County Humane Society

Voices for Animals
